No início desta semana, o Niquelândia News acompanhou o Padre Gilson Santana em uma visita à Vila Mutirão, onde ele passou sua infância e deu seus primeiros passos na vida religiosa na Igreja São Vicente de Paulo. O setor é também o local onde seus pais ainda residem. Após partir para o seminário, Padre Gilson retornava apenas para visitar a família, servindo em várias cidades até que o destino o trouxe de volta às suas origens.
Recentemente, em contato com amigos e algumas entidades, surgiu a ideia de comemorar os 40 anos do complexo de vilas e bairros que se formaram na década de 80 próximo ao Estádio Municipal. A primeira vila a ser estabelecida foi a Vila São José, hoje com 88 casas e 7 ruas. Seus primeiros moradores haviam invadido um terreno particular no bairro Ipanema. Para resolver a questão de forma pacífica, o então prefeito Joaquim Thomaz de Aquino (in memorian) transferiu os moradores para o lado sudoeste da cidade. Pouco tempo depois, o Programa Mutirão da Moradia, na gestão do então governador Iris Rezende (in memorian), construiu a Vila Mutirão, seguida pela Vila São Vicente e outros bairros, formando hoje um complexo de 10 bairros onde residem mais de 5 mil pessoas.
Andando pelas ruas desses bairros e conversando com o Niquelândia News, Padre Gilson revelou a programação preparada para comemorar os 40 anos, que ocorrerá de 1º a 7 de julho. A celebração incluirá bingos, brincadeiras, gincanas para crianças, homenagens, comidas típicas de junho, esportes, momento de saúde, sorteio de prêmios e outras atrações.

- Atividades com o pessoal do CRAS
Quarta, 3 de julho:
- Orações pelo bairro
Quinta, 4 de julho:
- Atividades com o CRAS voltadas para os idosos e apresentação de congadas
Sexta, 5 de julho:
- Homenagens aos comerciantes e aos moradores mais antigos
Sábado, 6 de julho:
- Caminhada da Paz e gincana e o bolo 40 anos
Domingo, 7 de julho:
- Futebol amistoso com os moradores, com partidas masculinas e femininas
O evento acontecerá na Rua Esportiva, em frente à Escola Municipal Iná Mendonça, cedida pela Secretaria Municipal de Educação, um dos parceiros do projeto. À frente da organização estão Padre Gilson Ferreira Santana da Igreja Nossa Senhora da Abadia, Frei Marcos da Paróquia e Santuário São José, Ação Social e Esportes, Associação de Moradores e as escolas do bairro. Um detalhe importante é que o evento será aberto para toda a comunidade dos bairros e de toda a cidade.
Em entrevista ao Jornalístico da rádio Mantiqueira 92,3 FM, padre Gilson falou da sua expectativa: ” A ideia é lembrarmos desse setor, das pessoas que moram aqui e que precisam do nosso apoio é importante valorizarmos um pouco mais os pais, as mães e o comerciante em fim as pessoas que moram aqui e merecem essa homenagem, esta celebração não é apenas um marco histórico, mas também um momento de união e fortalecimento dos laços comunitários, a participação de todos é essencial para que esses 40 anos de história sejam comemorados com muita alegria e esperança para o futuro” encerrou padre Gilson Santana.

Boa noite, eu participei da construção da vila mutirão. Na época eu jogava no Niquelândia, fomos convocados a fazer uma das casas. A casa que fizemos foi a 4 casa entre o estádio sentido colégio antigo.
Parabéns padre Gilson por lembrar desta comunidade que é a vila mutirão que é muito importante pra nossa cidade que o senhor Jesus abençoe todos envolvidos na programa
Meus parabéns Padre Gilson também fiz parte desse momento aí dessa construção dessa vila mutirão a minha saudosa mãe participou aí na preparação dos condimentos alimentos lanches e o na época eu tinha 8 anos.
