O governador Ronaldo Caiado inaugurou, nesta quinta-feira (25/9), o Complexo Oncológico de Referência do Estado de Goiás (Cora). Maior obra da atual gestão, a unidade é um dos mais modernos hospitais de combate ao câncer infantil do Brasil. Desde junho, quando entrou em funcionamento, o número de atendimentos passa de 2 mil. “Aqui, as crianças são tratadas no padrão dos melhores hospitais particulares do mundo, mas pelo SUS. Estamos dando uma aula de humanização na saúde”, disse o chefe do executivo goiano.
“Entregamos esperança para as crianças, e a perspectiva de ter sua doença curada, porque este hospital tem o melhor nível do ponto de vista científico e traz o que existe de mais inovador em tecnologia”, continuou. “O Cora está atendendo desde 7 de junho. Em dois meses e 15 dias, são mais de 200 cirurgias feitas, mais de 500 consultas e internações. Mostra a demanda represada de crianças humildes que não tinham para onde ir, e nem recursos para mudarem para Barretos ou Brasília. E não temos limite de atendimento: é o que determina no SUS. Ou seja, para toda a população brasileira”.
Caiado definiu a entrega do hospital como a realização de um sonho e uma espécie de presente, já que faz 76 anos nesta data. “Nunca tive um aniversário que me completasse tanto quanto este. Posso dizer que, como governador e médico, tenho certeza que cumpri com o que esperava fazer no governo, e com o que Deus espera dos homens e mulheres de bem desse nosso Estado”, afirmou.
O Cora já está mudando vidas. Há menos de uma semana, a paciente Nayara Pereira realizou a última sessão de quimioterapia, e recebeu alta. “Estamos indo para casa com o coração cheio de alegria e esperança. Deixo uma palavra para cada mãezinha que está aqui: tenha fé, acredite”, disse Nayara Pereira, mãe da criança recuperada. Ela comentou, ainda, que a qualidade do corpo clínico e da estrutura do complexo “está fazendo a diferença na vida de várias crianças”, a exemplo do tratamento de sua própria filha.
A coordenadora do Goiás Social e primeira-dama do Estado, Gracinha Caiado, afirmou que o Cora é um legado de dedicação à vida, e que marcará Goiás por muitas gerações. “Essa obra é muito mais do que paredes, leitos ou equipamentos. O Cora é a tradução do amor que Ronaldo Caiado tem pelo Estado e, sobretudo, pelo povo mais vulnerável. Um ato tão grandioso de amor como esse só podia resultar em esperança, vitória e futuro”, observou. “Que cada criança e família que passe por este hospital, sinta o cuidado de cada um que colaborou para que esse sonho se tornasse realidade”.
O vice-governador Daniel Vilela frisou que a solenidade representou um marco para a medicina goiana. “Havia muitas crianças invisíveis para o sistema de saúde na área de oncologia. E muitas não tinham acesso a nenhum tipo de serviço de combate ao câncer. Então, é algo muito impactante”. O evento reuniu dezenas de autoridades, entre prefeitos, deputados, senadores e especialistas da saúde.
Números e perfil
O Cora foi construído em tempo recorde, num prazo de 25 meses entre o anúncio e a inauguração. Para tanto, contou com um modelo inovador de contratação, compartilhado entre o Estado e o terceiro setor. A assinatura da ordem de serviço foi em fevereiro de 2023, e todo o processo conta com acompanhamento rigoroso dos órgãos de controle. O Governo de Goiás investiu R$ 192,7 milhões na estrutura e R$ 63,2 milhões em equipamentos.
Inspirado no modelo do Hospital de Amor, em Barretos (SP), reconhecido internacionalmente pela assistência integral e humanizada, o Cora é gerido pela Fundação Pio XII, a mesma responsável pela unidade paulista. “Eu ando o Brasil inteiro, passei por 20 estados do país e não vi nenhum governo oferecer o que Ronaldo está oferecendo (para Goiás). É completo, é dignidade para as pessoas, para as famílias”, comentou o diretor-geral do Cora, Henrique Prata.
Segundo Prata, de tão preparado, em apenas 60 dias o hospital atendeu o que era esperado para ocorrer num período de seis meses. O complexo recebe pacientes de 0 a 17 anos (e de 18 a 23 anos com câncer ósseo), via Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). Desde que entrou em operação, em junho, diagnosticou e iniciou o tratamento de 119 casos de câncer; realizou 225 cirurgias e 181 internações. Também contabiliza 526 consultas médicas e 926 atendimentos multiprofissionais em diferentes áreas da saúde, como nutrição, fisioterapia e psicologia.
“Para ser encaminhado ao Cora, não precisa ter um diagnóstico confirmado. A gente vai fazer todos os exames para confirmar o diagnóstico aqui também. O paciente é regulado, então, se procurar a atenção primária, alguma unidade de saúde, [em caso de suspeita de câncer] será encaminhado para este hospital”, explicou o secretário de Estado da Saúde, Rasível dos Reis.
O Cora oferece 60 leitos, incluindo UTI, centro cirúrgico, central de transplante de medula óssea e um avançado sistema de filtragem do ar. São realizados exames laboratoriais, análises patológicas, ressonâncias, tomografias, ultrassons, hemodiálise, transfusões e outros procedimentos, com funcionamento 24 horas por dia. O custeio mensal de toda a estrutura é estimado em R$ 6,8 milhões.

Na coletiva de imprensa que antecedeu a inauguração, o governador Ronaldo Caiado lembrou as dificuldades desde a ideia da construção, passando pela conquista da cessão do terreno, localizado às margens da BR-153, da pandemia e do custeio da construção, inteiramente financiado pelo tesouro estadual. “Esta obra não é um caixote, como alguns citaram. Ela é vida, humanidade, compromisso”, pontuou o governador.
